Created in 1965 by Joe Colombo, Spider exemplifies a visionary and bold approach that redefined the codes of modern lighting.

Crafted from stove-enameled metal, the Spider lamp is characterized by its unique reflector, designed to house a horizontal bulb with a directional beam. The luminaire is supported by a vertical chrome-plated stem and fixed to a painted metal base. An ingenious melamine joint allows for precise adjustment of the reflector, offering optimal flexibility in use. The collection is available in two models: a table lamp and a floor lamp.

In 1967, the Spider made history by winning the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, the first distinction of its kind for Oluce. Its cultural impact was further cemented by its presentation at the legendary “Italy: The New Domestic Landscape” exhibition at the MoMA in New York in 1972.

Today, this creation is featured in the permanent collections of world-renowned museums such as the Triennale di Milano, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf, and the Neue Sammlung museum in Munich.
