Designed in 2014 by Jean Nouvel for Artemide, Equilibrist is a desk lampwith a tilting arm whose two opposing heads, one circular and one square, pivot around a vertical axis and can be adjusted independently. Each head has its own dimmer control, allowing for a balance between reading, precision work, or accent lighting with fine control over direction and intensity. A winner of a 2015 Wallpaper Design Award, the piece literally plays with the balance between two geometries and two light intensities.

The heads are made of die-cast aluminum and the frame of painted aluminum, supported by a counterbalanced zamak base to ensure stability. The integrated LED source delivers 12 W in total for approximately 620 lumens at 3000 K. Made in Italy.
