Tom Dixon's Melt collection (launched in 2015 at the Salone del Mobile) is based on a unique process: blow-molded polycarbonate + vacuum metallization. The result: an organic, semi-transparent surface that simultaneously diffuses and reflects light. Available as a pendant, floor lamp, table lamp, wall light, and portable light, in gold, copper, smoke, and chrome finishes.
Designed by Tom Dixon(born 1959, founder of the eponymous brand in London in 2002, studio based in Shoreditch), the Melt tom dixoncollection made its debut at the Milan Salone del Mobile in 2015. Ten years later, it remains one of the essential benchmarks of tom dixon lighting. Its signature: a blow-molded polycarbonate diffuser, treated by vacuum metallization(vacuum metallizing), which produces a distorted, organic surface with mirror-like reflections: like molten glass frozen in time. The range currently covers five typologies: pendant, table lamp, floor lamp, wall light, and portable, available in four main colors.
